Tughlakabad Fort History
Tughlakabad Fort is a ruined fort in Delhi. Which is spread over an area of about 6 kilometers. It was built in 1321 by Ghiyasuddin, the founder of the Tughlaq Empire. But he had to leave this fort in 1327 itself. The area around this fort is also known as Tughlaqabad.
Ghiyasuddin was a liberal ruler. Who was very excited for his fort. So he issued an order that all the laborers of Delhi would work in his fort. Because of this Saint Nizamuddin Auliya became very angry. Because of this order, the work of his well stopped. After which the saint utters the curse- Yarheyujjar, Yabseygujjar.
The meaning of this curse is that whatever people are here, they will remain here, and only Gujjars will rule here. And it happened. After that this sultanate collapsed, and this fort was ruled by Gujjars, and even today the village of Tughlaqabad is located in the fort.
