Jama Masjid is located in Delhi. It is the largest mosque in India. It is located just half a kilometer away from the Red Fort. This mosque is made of red stone and marble. Shah Jahan started the work of making it in the year 1950. It took about 6 years and 10 lakh rupees to get it ready completely. This mosque can be entered from the north and south gates. The east gate of this mosque opens only on Fridays. It is believed that the Sultans used this gate. There are 11 arches in this mosque, of which the middle one is the largest. The domes on top of this mosque are decorated with black and white marble stones, which are very attractive.
