Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah History
Considered a holy shrine of Sufi period. Hazrat Nizamuddin was the fourth saint of the Chishti Gharana. It is said that in 1303 the Delhi Sultanate stopped the attack on his request. Thus it became popular for all people and all religions. Hazrat Nizamuddin sacrificed his life at the age of 92 and during that time the construction work of his mausoleum started. This dargah was established in the year 1325. But its renovation work continued till 1562.
If you enter this dargah, it is mandatory to cover your head and shoulders. There is a square hall made of marble stone in this dargah. Black colored lines are engraved on the domes of this dargah. This dargah is draped with Mother of Pearl canopy and Meherabo all around. This dargah is located near Nizamuddin railway station near Mathura road.
