Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib History in Hindi
Delhi’s Gurdwara Sheesh ganj Sahib is one of the nine historical Gurdwaras in Delhi. It is located in Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi. It was built by Baghel Singh in 1783 to commemorate the martyrdom of the ninth Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur. At that time Aurangzeb wanted all the Kashmiri Pandits to be converted to Islam. Then all the Kashmiri Pandits go to Tegh Bahadur ji and tell their problems. Only then Tegh Bahadur’s son advises him that, the situation at this time is demanding the martyrdom of a great person, and only you can make this sacrifice.
Aurangzeb refused this order
After that Tegh Bahadur ji went to Delhi, and after going there refused this order of Aurangzeb. Because of which he was sentenced to death on 11 November 1675. This sentence was given to him at the place of Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib. After the construction of the Gurudwara, there was a dispute between the Muslims and the Sikhs over its rights. But the decision was taken in favor of the Sikhs by the British Raj. This Gurdwara was reorganized in 1930.
